Welcome to the Munster Agricultural Society
Founded in 1805, the Munster Agricultural Society (MAS) has been at the heart of agricultural progress in Munster for over two centuries. As a non-profit organisation, MAS exists to champion agriculture, industry, education, and science—supporting the people and practices that shape our rural and wider community.
Our Mission
Our mission is as relevant today as it was when we were first established:
to promote and support the agricultural industry and agricultural science through education, innovation, and community engagement.
Since 1806, MAS has been committed to supporting the educational and developmental needs of the agricultural industry. While methods and technologies have evolved, our core objective has never changed—the advancement and promotion of agriculture and science.
Our People
MAS is powered by people. Our members, volunteers, and partners bring together a wealth of experience from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared passion for agriculture, education, and community development. Their dedication continues to drive the Society forward.
Our team comprises individuals from diverse backgrounds, all united by a shared passion for agriculture and community development. To provide greater clarity, we enclose our structure chart and Society Interaction Bodies Chart.
Our Journey & Our Future
From 1892 to 2008, the Society was proudly based in Ballintemple, Cork. Since 2012, our Showgrounds have been located in Curaheen, Cork, marking a new chapter in the Society’s history.
Looking ahead, there are exciting plans to further develop these lands to include community sporting, educational, and recreational facilities, ensuring the Munster Agricultural Society continues to serve not only agriculture, but the wider community for generations to come.
