At the end of October, the MAS Grassland and Farmland Biodiversity Demonstration Site at UCC welcomed a group of 1st Year Agricultural Science students for a field trip hosted by Dr Aoife Leader, MAS Postdoctoral Researcher in Farmland Biodiversity, and Dr Deirdre Hennessy, UCC.
The visit offered students a hands-on opportunity to explore farmland biodiversity and learn about sustainable grassland management practices. The event originally planned for September was postponed, as the schools prefer not to schedule trips in September to allow students time to settle into their routines.
We hope to host more school events in the future, providing further opportunities for students to engage with biodiversity and agricultural research in an interactive setting.
