The Horticulture & Invertebrates Subcommittee plays a key role in organizing and overseeing the horticultural and invertebrate competitions at the Cork Summer Show. This includes showcasing the beauty and diversity of plants, flowers, and garden designs, as well as celebrating the fascinating world of invertebrates through educational displays and competitions.
The subcommittee is responsible for:
- Planning and organizing a variety of horticultural competitions, including floral arrangements, gardening displays, and plant exhibitions.
- Promoting interest in invertebrates, including insect and bug exhibits, through educational presentations and hands-on activities.
- Coordinating with exhibitors, judges, and participants to ensure smooth operations.
- Setting and enforcing standards to encourage the best practices in gardening and biodiversity.
- Engaging the community by raising awareness of environmental sustainability and the importance of plants and invertebrates.
