The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. 

Read letter from the Hunters Improvement Society stating that the society were prepared to give a gold medal for the best Brood Mare, provided the prizes offered by the society amounted to £25 after some discussion the matter was on the motion Mr. W.R Meade adjourned until the next meeting. 

Professor Hartog, exhibited some samples tussock grass, grown by himself, and also gave some valuable information as to potato blight.   

The subject of fruit growing was introduced by the President and discussed at length, the secretary was directed to write to the secretary of the fruit growers association for some information on the subject.
